Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver changes lives. From the first day of kindergarten through high school graduation, we help kids succeed in school, develop good character and citizenship, and live healthy lives.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is one of the largest youth-serving organizations in Colorado, serving tens of thousands of kids each year at 25 Club sites. Our mission is to provide Club members with a safe, supportive, fun, and enriching environment that inspires and empowers them to achieve their greatest potential.
Every year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver reaches more than 40,000 youth through our community programs and events. Club membership is open to all youth ages 5-18. Membership offers access to a wealth of programming that has the power to positively shape and change their young lives.
The Clubs fill critical need gaps for working families, and provide members with life-changing opportunities and access to the resources they need to thrive and pursue great futures. For a nominal fee, our Clubs provide kids and teens ages 5 - 18 a safe place to be when they're not in school. We make sure cost is never a deciding factor for the families who need us.
Members receive daily meals, form friendships, improve their math and reading skills, play sports, take field trips, and follow artistic pursuits. Additionally, our members participate in STEM programming, receive hands-on mental health and social-emotional learning resources, and learn what it takes to pursue the future of their dreams through career and college exploration opportunities.
For Louis, a seventh grader at the Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club, afternoons are all about connection and growth. After nearly three years as a member, he says the Club has taught him an important lesson: “I learned at the Club you need to show respect to get respect.” Whether he’s shooting hoops, tossing a football, or playing video games with friends, Louis knows this is where he belongs. “I get to come here and play with my friends,” he shared, adding that without the Club, he’d probably just be at home sleeping after school.
Louis also enjoys stepping outside his comfort zone in the Club’s cooking class. “I need to cook because I don’t know how. I also like learning new things,” he said with a smile. For Louis, the Club is more than a place to play - it’s a space to learn, grow, and create lasting memories.
For 11-year-old Laylani, the William E. Cope Boys & Girls Club is more than an after-school program; it’s her favorite place to be. A fifth grader who has been coming to the Club every day for the past three years, Laylani says the friendships and support she’s found here make it special.
“The staff members love you here. I prefer to be at the Club than at home after school,” she shared. From gym games to the art room, Laylani loves the variety of activities, especially those she doesn’t get to experience anywhere else. “I play a lot of sports here. I also enjoy getting the opportunity to experience learning new things at the Club.”
Beyond sports, Laylani takes pride in spreading positivity among her peers. “Making kids smile can make their whole day,” she said. For Aylani, the Club is a place to learn, give back, and create memories that last.
For 13-year-old Davian, the J. Churchill Owen Boys & Girls Club has been more than just a place to hang out, it’s been a second home for the past three years. “It really means a lot to me,” Davian shared. “My cousin went here, and I feel really welcomed through sports and the staff. I want to come back and work here.” An eighth grader with a passion for athletics, Davian spends his days playing football, basketball, and soccer at the Club, where he’s also become a mentor to younger members.
When he’s not on the court or field, Davian lends a hand in the gym and even in the STEM lab, helping younger kids learn and grow. He enjoys supporting others, whether it’s teaching basketball fundamentals or playing alongside his brother and friends. “I like coming here to be a kid before you get into adulthood and face challenges,” he said. For Davian, the Club isn’t just about sports, it’s about community, friendship, and preparing for the future.
Every day, our team uses our dedication, passion, and resources to open doors for kids and with kids. We help members envision their greatest potential and turn their dreams into real possibilities.
